Terms and conditions
These terms apply when you play Vimrealm and when you buy the full version. The short version: the first five chapters are free, the full version is one payment, and you can get your money back for any reason within 14 days.

1. Who we are
Vimrealm is run by:
BRYLEX IT Michal Kaminski
ul. Stokrotki 6/14, 20-539 Lublin, Poland
NIP (tax ID): 7123209480
Email: contact@vimrealm.com
"We" and "us" in these terms mean the seller above. You can reach us at contact@vimrealm.com or through the Contact button in the game.
2. The free chapters
Chapters 1–5 are free and need no account or payment. Your progress is saved in your browser. We may change or improve the free chapters at any time.
3. The full version
The full version adds:
- chapters 6–13, with 21 more quests and the final battle against the Arrow-Key Dragon
- the 60 Trials, which open once you defeat the dragon
- cloud saves, so you can sign in and continue on another device
The price is shown in the game and on the checkout page before you pay, and it includes tax. It is a single payment, not a subscription, and access has no time limit.
What you need: a current version of a modern desktop browser (such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari), a physical keyboard, an internet connection to load the paid quests and sync your progress, and an email address you can receive mail at. Vimrealm doesn't work on touch screens. Please try the free chapters first to check it works on your computer.
4. Buying the full version
- Press Unlock the realm in the game. You are taken to a checkout page run by our payment provider, Stripe.
- Enter your email address and payment details there and confirm the payment. The payment methods on offer are those Stripe shows you.
- The contract between you and us is made when Stripe confirms the payment. The full version unlocks straight away in the browser you bought from, and we email you a welcome letter that confirms the purchase and includes a sign-in link.
Your email address becomes your account. To play on another device, ask the game for a sign-in link to that address.
5. Refund policy: 14 days
You have the right to a full refund for any reason within 14 days of your purchase. You don't need to explain why.
How to ask: email contact@vimrealm.com from the address you bought with, or use the in-game Contact form and pick Payment or account. Tell us that you want a refund. Your request is in time if you send it before the 14 days are over.
What happens next: we refund the full amount you paid, including tax, through Stripe to the payment method you used, within 14 days of receiving your request. You pay no fees. Your bank or card provider may take a few more days to show the money in your account.
After the refund: the full version, the Trials and cloud saves stop working for your account. The free chapters and any progress saved in your browser stay.
Your legal right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the law gives you 14 days to withdraw from a contract for digital content. We don't ask you to give up that right when you start playing, so you can withdraw and get your money back even if you have already played the full version. This refund policy covers that right and does not limit it.
6. If something doesn't work
The full version must work as described on this site and in the game. If it doesn't, you have the rights given by law, in Poland by the Consumer Rights Act (ustawa o prawach konsumenta), and they apply after the 14 days as well.
Tell us at contact@vimrealm.com or through the Contact form what went wrong. It helps to include your browser and the quest you were on. We answer every complaint within 14 days. We will first try to fix the problem; if we can't fix it in reasonable time, you can ask for a price reduction or a full refund.
7. Your account
- The full version is for you personally. Please don't share your account or sign-in links with others.
- Anyone who can read your email can sign in to your account, so keep your mailbox secure.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time. See the Privacy policy for what we keep and why.
8. Fair use
Vimrealm is for your own learning and enjoyment. Please don't:
- copy, publish or resell the paid quests or the Trials
- try to get around the payment, or access other players' accounts
- attack, overload or scrape the site or its API
If an account seriously breaks these rules, we may block it after telling you why by email. That doesn't affect your statutory rights.
9. Updates and availability
We keep improving the game. Updates may fix bugs, adjust quests or add new ones. We won't make changes that take away what you paid for without telling you in advance; if a change harms your access to the full version in a significant way, you may end the contract and get a refund as the law provides.
We aim to keep Vimrealm online at all times, but short interruptions can happen, for example during maintenance or if one of our providers has an outage.
10. Ownership
The game, its quests, art, sounds and text belong to us. Buying the full version gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to play it; it doesn't transfer ownership. Vim is a separate open-source project, and Vimrealm is not affiliated with it. The pixel fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License.
11. Liability
We are responsible for the game working as described and for meeting these terms, as the law requires. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law, or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
12. Privacy
How we handle your data, and your rights under the GDPR, are explained in the Privacy policy.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
If we can't settle a disagreement between us, you can take it to the court that has jurisdiction under the law. Consumers can also use free out-of-court help: in Poland, a municipal or county consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa), with more information on the website of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (prawakonsumenta.uokik.gov.pl). If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre in your country can help.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the game or the law changes. Your purchase stays under the terms that applied when you bought it, unless a change is only in your favour. The date at the top shows the latest version.
